On Sunday, August 25, at the home of Bryna Sanger and Harry Katz, Cities of Peace Illuminated honored the 75th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz with its introduction of The Auschwitz Initiative. Founder of Cities of Peace, Ellen Frank, was joined by Jonathan Ornstein, director of Jewish Community Centre of Krakow, and others. WSHU essayist and author David Bouchier will be at the Rogers Memorial Library in Southampton on Thursday, September 19, at 1 PM for a talk titled “The Real South of France,” in which the author will recount experiences from his travels in the country. The library will host a birth year dinner party on September 19 at 5:30 PM. Participants are asked to research a popular recipe from the year they were born, prepare it, and bring it to the library to share. Reservations are required.
