Art Show:

The 24th Annual Show on the Montauk Green takes place from August 17 to 19. The event is held on the Village Green in downtown Montauk on Friday from noon to 6 PM, and both Saturday and Sunday from 10 AM to 6 PM. Admission to the event is free. The event is presented by the Montauk Artists’ Association.

Beach Crafts:

The South Fork Natural History Museum invites kids ages 3 to 5 to create beach memory jars at 9 AM. They will walk along a beach with a group leader to collect shells, sand, driftwood, stones, and other beachy things to create jars to remember the summer. Guests are welcome to bring things they have previously found.

Ellen’s Run:

The 23rd annual Ellen’s Run 5K to benefit the Ellen Hermanson Breast Centers and Ellen’s Well will be held on Sunday, August 19, in Southampton starting at Stony Brook Southampton Hospital. The 5K starts at 9 AM and will wrap up at noon.

The Ellen Hermanson Foundation ensures that no breast cancer patient is turned away from the Ellen Hermanson Breast Center for lack of insurance or inability to pay for treatment. Wine Class:

World-renowned Master Sommelier, Laura Fiorvanti, owner of NYC based wine bar Corkbuzz Restaurant and Wine Studio, has begun teaching wine classes at Shelter Island restaurant, 18 Bay, every Sunday from 1 to 2:30 PM in a Hamptons pop-up. On Sunday, August 19, the class theme is “exploring island wines.”

Each wine class features tastings of eight different wines, as well as a plate of house-made ricotta and bread. Laura is one of 33 women in the world to gain the Master Sommelier accreditation and prides herself on making wine accessible and fun for everyone.

The Grenning Gallery is sponsoring New York artist Brian Farrell as he works with the children showing them his mural and street art techniques. Born and raised in Southampton, Farrell is creating interactive visual experiences in public spaces, as well as on canvas for sale.

A Mind Is . . .:

The United Negro College Fund will host its seventh annual “A Mind Is . . .” Hamptons Summer Benefit weekend on Saturday, August 18, and Sunday, August 19. The weekend will start on Saturday with a reception and program at a private residence in East Hampton. There will be a VIP reception at 5 PM, followed by dinner at 6 PM.

On Sunday, there will be a brunch at Bay Kitchen Bar in East Hampton starting at 11 AM.

THEY will be performing at The Surf Lodge on Sunday, August 19, at 7 PM.

THEY are Drew and Dante. Influenced by the two-singer dynamic of Taking Back Sunday and the nursery rhyme simplicity of Kurt Cobain’s lyrics, Drew and Dante meld their diverse musical backgrounds to create songs without boundaries that push forward the cultural needle. Melodically, Dante and Drew have a mutual admiration for late 80s gems such as Babyface and New Edition; “The Ralph” even features as one of Drew’s many studio voices. The pair combine these influences with their own limitless and evolving sound to produce something that can’t be placed into a box labeled ‘Urban’ and filed away.
