The Independent, along with fitness-foodie writer Nicole Teitler, held a tasting for Joe & Liza’s new ice cream flavors featuring Grindstone Donuts along with drinks by Simple Vodka and Wölffer Estate Vineyard on Friday, May 31. Guests joined Kyle Shanahan, owner of Grindstone Coffee & Donuts; social media influencer and co-owner of Joe & Liza’s Sean O’Donnell; and Taylor Berry, the owner of Sag Harbor’s Berry & Co book shop.
The Rogers Memorial Library will screen “Bohemian Rhapsody,” the Academy Award-winning film about Freddie Mercury and his band Queen, on Monday, June 17, at
3 PM. The library will also host “Battle of the Brains” trivia night with Bob DeSefano on June 17 at 5:30 PM. The contest consists of 50 general knowledge questions

The library will host “The Growing Threat of Lyme Disease,” a talk with investigative writer Mary Beth Pfeiffer on Wednesday, June 19, at 5:30 PM. Pfeiffer will discuss her book, “Lyme: The First Epidemic of Climate Change,” which documents the global spread of tick-borne diseases as temperatures rise,
forests are fragmented, and species lost. She will also talk about the difficulty of diagnosis and treatment of Lyme disease. The library will also host “U.S.-China Relations: What the & amp & is Going On?” on June 20 at 5:30 PM. Tom Grunfeld, an East Asia specialist, will focus on how the Trump administration has initiated a policy of confrontation and will look at the changes in this relationship from a broad historical perspective.
