Howard Schultz

The Tom Twomey Series of talks is usually held in the Baldwin Family Lecture Room at the East Hampton Library. However, due to the popularity of Starbucks Founder and Chairman Emeritus Howard Schultz, Library Director Dennis Fabiszak decided to move the event, called “Building a Better Company,” to the larger Children’s Room, which has the capacity for more than 300 people.

At the August 17 event, Schultz told interviewer Andrew Ross Sorkin of The New York Times and CNBC the story of his humble beginnings in Brooklyn public housing to growing Starbucks into an $84 billion business.
