For its 80th year, Guild Hall in East Hampton is hosting the annual Artist Members Exhibition. Local members from every level showed their support at the longest running non-juried museum exhibition on Long Island.
The show opened on Saturday, with more than 400 works shown by 383 artists. A pre-opening private reception for the exhibition’s award winners, their families, and friends, was held in Guild Hall’s Boots Lamb Education Center. Selecting the winners, the guest juror this year was Connie Choi, associate curator at the Studio Museum in Harlem. Jeff Muhs won top honors, joining winners in nine other categories, and 12 honorable mentions.
The reception, hosted by Guild Hall’s curatorial assistant Casey Dalene, museum director Christina Strassfield, and special events associate Kristen Lee Curcie, also celebrated guests who were winners and jurors between the years 2000 and 2017. The show will be on view through May 19. Visit www.guildhall.org for more information.
