The United Negro College Fund hosted its annual “A Mind Is . . .” Hamptons summer benefit on Saturday, August 3, at the home of Nancy Silberkleit in East Hampton. WSHU essayist and author David Bouchier will be at the Rogers Memorial Library in Southampton on Thursday, September 19, at 1 PM for a talk titled “The Real South of France,” in which the author will recount experiences from his travels in the country. The library will host a birth year dinner party on September 19 at 5:30 PM. Participants are asked to research a popular recipe from the year they were born, prepare it, and bring it to the library to share. Reservations are required.
