Local bands Earthreal, The Sectionals, and Big Karma are playing a benefit concert called “Young Musicians Unite For Gun Sanity.”
The concert will raise money for Everytown, a movement of Americans working together to end gun violence and build safer communities, and Moms Demand Action, a grassroots organization working for economic security for all mothers, women, and families in the United States.
The event will begin at 6 PM in the Garden at Guild Hall. There will be speakers and testimonials including Village Police Chief Mike Tracey, Jackie Hilly (New Yorkers against Gun Violence ), Allura Leggard and Sinead Murray (local activists and students), Paul Guttenberg (a family member of a victim at the Parkland Shooting), and more. Participation in a gun sense painting and live music by local musicians, The Hot Club of Montauk, will also be in the garden prior to the music and light show inside.
The entire event will also be filmed by Academy Award Documentary filmmaker, Nigel Noble.
There will also be voter registration on-site, raffles, merchandise, and educational materials.
