The Group for the East End will host “Mad About Seashells” at Hallock State Park on July 13 from 11 AM to 12:30 PM. The educational family-friendly event will have attendees comb the shoreline for seashells, crab shells, and other natural treasures. The group will also host another family-friendly event with “An Introduction to Birdwatching” at Orient State Park on July 14 from 9:30 to 11 AM. Attendees will be able to view songbirds, shorebirds, egrets, terns, and ospreys. Those interested in attending should bring their own binoculars. There will be a Full Moon Paddle through Cutchogue Harbor followed by a picnic on July 16 from 6:30 to 9:30 PM. Attendees are asked to bring their own kayak or stand-up paddleboard, as well as their favorite beverages and snacks, to the free event.For those who would prefer to hike, there will be a Full Moon Walk at Downs Farm Preserve in Cutchogue from 8:30 to 9:30 PM. Attendees are encouraged to bring a flashlight or headlamp for the guided one-mile walk. Space is limited, so registration is required. For more information, visit www.groupfortheeastend.org.
