Haunted Rogers Mansion:

For the month of October the Rogers Mansion will be taken over by the spooky spirits of Halloween. Come explore our exhibits and learn about Southampton’s past, but be on the lookout for ghouls and ghosts of previous occupants. Was that a creaky old floorboard or the footsteps of Captain Albert Rogers getting ready to leave on a whaling trip? You will have to stop in to find out!

Speaker at ELIAS Dinner will Address Whale Stranding along the East Coast:

On Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at 6 pm ELIAS (Eastern Long Island Audubon Society) is welcoming Kimberly Durham at the Annual Dinner. The dinner will take place at Rock Hill Golf & Country Club in Manorville. The evening will include a cocktail hour, buffet dinner, raffles & Chinese auction. The cost is $50 per person. All are welcome.

Kimberly Durham, the speaker, will present: Marine Mammals & Sea Turtles of New York, Conservation, Awareness, Research, Education & Stewardship.

She will address the questions — why have sightings of humpback whales and dolphins increased around Long Island and what does the future holds for them and for the gray and harbor seals? You will also find out what endangered and threatened species of sea turtles can be found in our waters and the threats which they face. What are the everyday actions that could make significant differences for the future of Long Island’s marine ambassadors.

Read To A Dog

The Amagansett Free Library the opportunity for kids to read to a dog named Valentino from 11 to 11:45 AM. Valentino is a certified Canine Good Citizen through the American Kennel Association. Children must be accompanied by parents or a caregiver.
