Speaker at ELIAS Dinner will Address Whale Stranding along the East Coast

On Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at 6 pm ELIAS (Eastern Long Island Audubon Society) is welcoming Kimberly Durham at the Annual Dinner. The dinner will take place at Rock Hill Golf & Country Club in Manorville. The evening will include a cocktail hour, buffet dinner, raffles & Chinese auction. The cost is $50 per person. All are welcome.
Kimberly Durham, the speaker, will present: Marine Mammals & Sea Turtles of New York, Conservation, Awareness, Research, Education & Stewardship.
She will address the questions — why have sightings of humpback whales and dolphins increased around Long Island and what does the future holds for them and for the gray and harbor seals? You will also find out what endangered and threatened species of sea turtles can be found in our waters and the threats which they face. What are the everyday actions that could make significant differences for the future of Long Island’s marine ambassadors.
