Linda Asher, translator and longtime fiction editor at The New Yorker, will give a talk at the Amagansett Free Library on July 27 at 6 PM.
Asher, who works in both Czech and French, most recently translated Yasmina Reza’s novel “Babylon,” which has been published to much acclaim. Asher has been awarded the Scott Moncrieff, the Deems Taylor, and the French-American/Florence Gould translation prizes, and is a Chevalier of the Order of Arts and Letters of the French Republic.
The library will also host “Mindfulness,” a four-part series with Eva Growney on Sunday, July 21, August 4, August 11, and August 25 at 2 PM. The series will focus on personal development, loving oneself, loving others, and having mindfulness in the dating world.
