The Rogers Memorial Library Events

The Friends of the Rogers Memorial Library will present pianist Solomon Eichner in concert on June 2 at 3 PM. A national and international competition winner, Eichner will perform a program of Fauré, Debussy, Paderewski, and Chopin. There is no charge for this program. The Rogers Memorial Library and the Southampton History Museum will offer the talk, “Slavery and the Making of America” on June 3 at 5:30 PM. Martin H. Levinson, Ph.D. will discuss the impact slavery had on America and the role it played in the formation of the United States as a nation.The library will also offer a DMV 5-Hour Course for teens on June 1 from 11:30 AM to 4:30 PM. Attendees will receive the MV-278 certificate upon completion. Attendees must bring their learners permit and $68 in cash. Call the Teen Department to register. The library will also hold the “Teen Cookie Club,” at which students in grades 6 through 12 can earn community service time, on June 4 from 4 to 5 PM. Cookies will be served. The library will also host a “Animal Lover’s Club” on June 6 at 4 PM. Students in grades 6 through 12 can learn how to assemble DIY Cat Tents out of t-shirts, cardboard, and hangers. For more information about library programs, visit www.myrml.org.
