Pittsburgh's Tree of Life congregants honored in East Hampton

Community Holds Vigil For Shooting Victims

The Jewish Center of the Hamptons on Woods Lane was packed on the evening of Thursday, November 1, with people of every faith, age, color, and political affiliation, brought together by the horrendous killing of 11 people in Pittsburgh, PA at The Tree of Life synagogue. Other clerics from other local congregations, including Sag Harbor’s Temple Adas Israel, also led the service.

“They are not numbers or means for political fodder,” Rabbi Joshua Franklin told the crowds. “They were human beings whose lives were extinguished solely for the fact that they were Jews.”
