There will be a dedication ceremony for a new roadside marker outside the Amagansett Life-Saving and Coast Guard Station on Saturday, May 25, at 10 AM. The marker, which was funded by a grant from the William G. Pomeroy Foundation, commemorates the interception of a group of four Nazi saboteurs by Coast Guard personnel at the station in June 1942. A plaque designating the station’s placement on the National Register of Historic Places, which happened in 2018, will also be installed. The ceremony will take place outdoors in front of the station, and all are welcome to attend. Visit www.amagansettlss.org for more information.
