Barrymore reportedly selects farmhouse

Two Trophies Sell In Sagaponack

If we are to climb out of the current real estate malaise, it figures the sales rebound will begin in Sagaponack, one of the nation’s priciest zip codes.

The actress and “Charlie’s Angels” alumna Drew Barrymore is doing her part, at least to hear the New York Post tell it. The NYC-based broad sheet reported Barrymore — the great-great-grand niece of John Drew for whom the Guild Hall theater is named for — snapped up a six-bedroom, six-bath farmhouse for about $6 million.

It should be noted the peeps have not confirmed the sale and maintain she is simply renting.

The place has character and privacy, a pool and a pool house, a barn, and a huge hedged-in yard totaling 1.7 acres.

It’s a far cry from her last purchase, said to be a modern residence in Redwood overlooking Sag Harbor Cove. Barrymore reportedly fell hard for the huge double-height living room and lived-in decor and ambiance.

In other news, a newly built Sagaponack Village ultra-modern house designed by one of the hottest East End green/cool architectural firms has sold.

Bates Masi + Architects had reportedly asked for more, but settled for $14 million from an unidentified buyer — if one can truly ever “settle” for that kind of cash. The house sits on nearly an acre of land and has water views, and is within walking distance of Barrymore, should the new owners care to borrow a cup of organic yogurt.
