Montauk residents will be asked to approve a $7.5 million bond to pay for an expansion and renovation

Montauk Library Vote

Besides the annual school budget vote on Tuesday, May 21, Montauk residents will be asked to approve a $7.5 million bond to pay for an expansion and renovation of the community’s library.

The project calls for the addition of 5000 square feet to the existing 9000-square-foot building, much of that by reconfiguring existing interior space. It will provide a larger children’s space, a new teen room, a local history and fishermen’s center, expanded adult services, and new archival space.

Voting will take place at the Montauk School from 2 to 8 PM in conjunction with the school board and budget vote.
